Lakeside is a peaceful, country feeling settles over you as you enter Lakeside, one of San Diego County´s original western towns. Lakeside is a proud community with a rural atmosphere and a sense of hometown traditions. As you might suspect, there are several lakes and reservoirs in Lakeside: El Capitan, San Vicente, Lindo Lake and Lake Jennings!

Lakeside is known for being home of Barona Valley Ranch & Casino, with its hotel, restaurants and golf course! Residents flock to the annual Western Days Parade, and Lakeside Rodeo in April. The rodeo grounds often hosts country music concerts, 4-H and FFA events, and hosts BBQs/fundraisers for many local groups. Exceptional educational opportunities are available at its seven elementary schools, two middle schools, along with several private schools, and El Capitan High School, part of the Grossmont School District.
This country town is located about 25 miles east of downtown San Diego and only minutes from the mountains and deserts. The town´s location near Interstate 8 and Highway 67 gives residents easy access to all parts of San Diego County.
Prospective homeowners looking for some land for their horses and livestock will want to focus on the areas of Wildcat Canyon, El Monte, Willow, Eucalyptus Hills and Moreno Valley.
There are also several condo and townhome complexes with prices starting in the low $200K.
